Burners Under the Influence
The Front Porch Oasis
The friendliest and most welcoming camp on the playa — known for our front porch, open-door vibe, and the kind of camp where strangers become family.
Find us at 2:45 & Bodhi facing the Mountain Side for a cold drink, good conversation, and a place to gather in the dust. Join us daily at sunrise for coffee and again at sundown for our legendary Shot of the Day. And don’t miss our playa-famous Pineapple Upside Down Cake Thursday from 2:00–4:00 PM.
Camp BUI began in 2006 with three friends — Sir Loin, TBD, and Mother Chucker— and has grown into a long-standing Burning Man community built around participation, connection, contribution, and shared experience.
We’re known playa-wide for:
Shot of the Day 🍹
Pineapple Upside Down Cake Thursday 🍍
Our annual commemorative shot glass
Our welcoming front porch
Ridiculously good camp food
We’re not a plug-and-play camp or a spectator experience. Camp BUI is a participatory community where campmates contribute, show up for one another, and help create the experience together.
Whether you’re a seasoned Burner or exploring camp life for the first time, we value people who want to engage, participate, and become part of something bigger than themselves.
We look forward to meeting you.

We will be located at 2:45 and Bodhi facing the Mountain Side. Please stop by and say hi!
BODHI
Central to the Buddhist tradition is the Bodhi Tree, a ficus in India where the Gautama Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment while meditating beneath its branches. After 2,500 years, the original tree is long gone, but the grove remains on the grounds of the Mahabodhi Temple. Saplings from the Bodhi Tree and its descendants have been sent over the years to sprout in sacred gardens as far away as Hawaii.
